This is the inquiry that ODN Europe’s first Connect Group for internal consultants is launching in March, co-led by Julie Beedon and Gifford Tanser.
Internal OD consultants face dilemmas and opportunities that are similar to, and yet different from, their external colleagues.
In Peter Block’s book, Flawless Consulting he recognises that as an internal consultant, you are at every moment embedded in some part of the hierarchy and the politics of the organisation. This can create constraints on how internal consultants contract with clients and how much risk they feel willing to take in giving honest feedback. At the same time being an internal can also convey unique opportunities to do significant and worthwhile work.
How do internal consultants survive and thrive to operate in the realm of higher risk and higher payoff and still maintain the respect and appreciation of clients?
ODNE members and non-members are invited to join the first face to face meeting of this inquiry where they can expect to:
Connect: with other internal OD consultants in a valuable, shared inquiry
Discern: what is most needed for you to survive and thrive in your context
Be Nourished: through learning and encouragement
Be Equipped: applying practical approaches to progress real client issues
Agree: if this is a one-day wonder or if there is more to discover together
The day will start at 09:30am and finish at 16:45pm. There is no charge for this event, but places are limited to the first 50 applicants.
